The access code is needed, if you want to review your purchase details. 

What can you do in the area behind the "access code"? 

When you are direct debited by the seller and you want to change your account number (IBAN), you can do so here.
In addition, you can view your purchase details in a nice overview.

How do I request my access code?

Go to your the confirmation mail of the purchase and click on the link. The link sends you to the PayPal profile of the seller. There, the access code can be retrieved by clicking "Send code". You will then receive the code by e-mail. Note that this code may end up in your spam box. 

*Please note: the access code that is sent is only valid for 5 minutes.
